Response

My father, the late State Senator Gil Kahele taught me that public service can be a noble calling. He inspired me to fight for a better future in Hawai'i. I am running to serve as the next U.S. representative of Hawai'i's second congressional district, because I know this is no time for building walls. This is a time to continue building hope, dreams, and national unity.

I believe that voters in Hawai'i share my vision for our state and our nation. We need a strong economy where all people can enjoy a living wage. We must provide compassionate social services for every person in need. We must equip the future generation with the resources they need to thrive, and we can start by providing outstanding public education. We must ensure that all Americans have quality and affordable health care. Furthermore, we cannot turn a blind eye to the dangers of pandemics, climate change, global warming, and natural disasters. As a father of three daughters, I know there is no greater obligation of every generation than to leave this planet to our children in a better condition than we received it.

I am also running because I want to see Hawai'i's values in Washington, DC: honor, equality, religious and racial toleration, cooperation, integrity and hard work. I know these values have made our Hawai'i an extraordinary place to live. These are the values I hold dear will take with me to Washington, DC as your representative.

Tell Kaiali’i Kahele thank you.
