Hawaii is the most expensive state in the country both to live in, and to do business in. We pay the most and highest taxes, compared to any other state. Despite paying these high rates, we also seem to get the least in return for our investment. Our schools are rated in the bottom 3 in the country, Our roads are rated in the bottom 3 in the country, our infrastructure, waste water, prisons, and most of our government agencies and services are considered to be among the worst of their kind when compared to similar agencies and services around the nation. Our school teachers and first responders are among the lowest paid in the nation, and so we cannot keep them here. I will insist on transparency in government and I will find out why we are paying so much more than other places around the country and why we get so much less in return for our efforts. Then I will fix those problems.
