Response

I was a plaintiff in the lawsuit that helped to redraw the congressional districts in PA. Practices like gerrymandered districts and other suppression tactics undermine the faith average people have in this government and our political process. They feel like their voices and votes don’t count. We need an elected leader who will uphold and defend our Constitution, which I have done several times as a 16 year military veteran. Congress should find ways to include more Americans in the political process instead of reducing the number of Americans who actively participate by regularly prioritizing corporate needs over those of the people in their districts. In 2018 I was named "Defender of Democracy" by Common Cause PA for my efforts in combating partisan gerrymandering in my state.
I am a husband and father of two, a 3rd generation Union member, 16 year veteran, and a believer that fair districts are needed to ensure a strong democracy. I care deeply about the struggling families and their children I see as an educator and as a community member. I worry about their well being and the future they are faced with. I do not feel the current representation in this district understands their needs or their struggles and our current Representative has actually cast votes that harm working families in this district. I am hoping to be their voice in Congress and to fight on their behalf to ensure a better future for the working men and women in Southwestern PA.

Tell William Marx thank you.
