Holeka Goro Inaba was born and raised in Kona, HI. His father, Don Inaba, comes from Hōlualoa where his 'ohana started and continues to own the Kona Hotel. Kawehi Inaba, Holeka's mother, is a long time Kona resident and founder of Mokulele Airlines, Kona's hometown airline.

Holeka attended preschool at Pūnana Leo o Kona and Kamehameha Preschools. He then attended Ke Kula ʻo ʻEhunuikaimalino before graduating from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama High School. Holeka holds a B.A. in Integrated Educational Studies and Communication Studies from Chapman University. In addition, he holds a M.S. in Health and Strategic Communication. Holeka is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in educational leadership.

During his college years, Holeka served as a donor relations assistant at Chapman University. He also worked as a communications intern with Irvine based optometry company, AcuFocus Inc. Holeka is very passionate about education and has taught business and professional communication at Chapman University. He continues to work in the education field for Kamehameha Schools and the DOE. Outside of his work in education, Holeka works as a communication consultant for Kūpaʻa Business Planners. He also serves on the board of directors for for Uluhaʻo o Hualālai and West Hawaii Mediation Center.

As a Native Hawaiian who is fluent in the Hawaiian language and knowledgeable in Hawaiian culture, Holeka is eager to provide a culturally grounded perspective to the county council.
