Response

My name is Russell Foster, and I want to represent all of us from the 18 rural counties in District 04. I was born and raised in Sherman/Tom Bean TX, have never thought about leaving this area because I love our community that we have built together over the decades. I am Proud of what our community has accomplished, and believe we can accomplish so much more in the future. We have lived the last 2 decades in decline in the rural parts of our district. Our government seems to have forgotten about us up here in North East Texas. The GOP continues to provide us with Cookie Cutter politicians with no solutions, just talking points.

We need people that truly represent us, not corporate lobbyists. I see the struggles of our community every day because I live those struggles every day as an IT person for a local hospital for the last 12 years. During this pandemic I get to see first hand the incompetence our current government has provided my healthcare professional friends and colleagues. I went into this fight for protecting them and all Americans healthcare, to try my best to make it better. Never in my dreams did I expect to be fighting for their basic PPE shipments against the GOP.

As a Democrat I will fight to protect our Teachers and students. We need to be investing in distance learning, retraining teachers how to do virtual classes & work on more online testing. These are dire times and we need to come up with creative solutions to save future generations of leaders that are on the line due to this pandemic and the mismanagement over this year.

We must work on robust national testing / contact tracing strategy if we are ever going to beat this pandemic. We need leaders that understand science, listen to scientists & will do what is best for the people, not for inflated economy numbers to help the 1%. We must have rapid test results and easy access across the nation. This isn't a fake virus, isn't the flu, and isn't going to magically go away. Help protect my healthcare professional friends by wearing a mask, washing your hands, and social distancing. Save our lives and yours!

There is so much that we need to fundamentally change until this pandemic is over, even how we vote. We must have elected officials that look out for us & protect us. Not ones that will continue to say the same things we have heard for decades and we continue to have nothing to show for it. Let's make that change in 2020. A Vote for me is a vote for all of us. I will be there for you! Please visit Foster4Texas.com for more of our platform and information on the campaign, follow us on Twitter @RussellFosterTx for Russells daily thoughts on everything!

Tell Russell Foster thank you.
